NGC 891 - first light with new mount

This is the first light with my new 10 Micron 2000 HPS mount.
I was really lucky to be able to make this picture because during the assembling process of the whole equipment I almost destroyed my scopes.
For the 10 Micron balancing is really important. Doing so I loosen the screws of my double fixing in the mount to balance properly. After balancing I screwed them again by hand only which was not really sufficient. All of a sudden both scopes slipped out of the mounts central fixing and bumped into ground. I thought they are all gone and fully damaged.
Luckily I do have a floating floor above ground to separate the scope from the flooring. This floor is flexible and damped the crash in a way, that the scopes survived.
Of course completely misaligned! The double fixing is not rectangle any more so my Xmas break is partly filled with work to realign the fixings and completely align the C11.
Nevertheless in a quick shot I tried out NGC 891 with the C11. The stars needs some work but the scope is still alive. The Sharpstar Astrograph survived the crash with a loose secondary mirror and some misalignment but no other damages.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
